Hiring range:  $88,000-$110,000/year

The Labor and Employee Relations Specialist is a new position created to be the first point of contact for labor and employee relations matters and to be a trusted partner providing strategic advice to Chelan PUD leaders.  The specialist will report to the Director of Safety, Labor and Organizational Development and represent our company in labor-management discussions, negotiations and resolving disputes.  The specialist will engage with employees at all levels across the company and work with employees and supervisors to enhance performance and effectiveness.  The role of the Labor and Employee Relations Specialist is also critical to safeguarding the company and employees by ensuring consistent application of policies and employment regulations.

The position requires three years of professional experience in labor and employee relations.  Prior experience negotiating or participating in collective bargaining, administering labor agreements and resolving labor issues with an emphasis on proactive, on-going, and collaborative problem-solving is required.  Experience must also include drafting and administering collective bargaining agreements.  Well-developed negotiating, counseling, and coaching skills are essential.  Labor relations experience with a public employer in Washington State is desired.

Successful candidates will have a BA/BS degree in Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business or a related field.  Certified Labor Relations Professional designation is preferred.  Successful candidates will also be able to communicate complex concepts in terms understandable by everyone, demonstrate a dedication to public service and have a passion for developing productive and collaborative labor relationships.
