The University of Wisconsin – Madison has been ranked among the top 25 research institutions in the world. The University’s Office of Human Resources is currently recruiting for a Workforce Relations Specialist.

The position's responsibilities primarily involve the implementation and management of the employment relations program for all UW-Madison employees. Key functions include providing consultation to deans, directors, chairs, faculty, supervisors, HR representatives and employees; drafting and updating policies and procedures; developing and presenting training modules; hearing grievances; managing appeals; recommending remedies for disputes; and establishing strong business partnerships with all parties (employee groups, management, governance etc.) to successfully accomplish the position's functions.

The best qualified candidate will have experience providing employment/workforce relations services, making employment decisions based on just cause and due process, policy development and application, and layoff procedures.
