Engility is searching for an Employee Relations (ER) Representative that has a demonstrated background in partnering with managers and employees on matters related to conflict resolution, performance management, coaching, progressive discipline, and conducting investigations. Responsibilities also include facilitating the reduction in force process and being a liaison for the area of responsibility and the Engility Ethics Office. The ER Rep will work closely with the Talent Management Team to provide a consistent approach in addressing employee relations issues across the company. This role will also work to create a partnership between Talent Management, Group leaders and line management to address trends and determine/recommend learning opportunities to foster a high performance culture.  

Other duties will include:

  • Advise and collaborate with management and employees relative to effectively resolving ER concerns
  • Lead investigations and draft investigation reports for review while recommending remediation
  • Review and partner with management relative to drafting ER documents (written warnings, performance improvement plans, coaching/counseling talking points, etc.)
  • Facilitate conflict or corrective action meetings with management and employee(s) while acting as an unbiased mediator to resolve concerns effectively
  • Conduct monthly meetings with the HR leadership and quarterly meetings with the Group Senior Vice President in areas of responsibility to review ER cases, identify possible trends and make sound recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Perform the full life cycle of the Reduction in Force (RIF) process by partnering the management to ensure justifications are sound and meets approval, drafting RIF documentation and answering off-boarding questions to ensure employee’s separation is complete
  • Become an active participant on the Threat Assessment Team
  • Engage and communicate with all levels of employees to ensure ER concerns are addressed timely
  • Conduct ER training for new managers within the respective team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and the ability to interpret and translate that knowledge into effective decisions making
  • Five plus years of human resources experience
  • Experience working in a government contracting organization is a plus
  • Experience in investigating and responding to employee complaints and hotline calls Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Must be able to travel if necessary
  • Ability to make independent recommendations to effectively resolve workplace issues by using judgment that is consistent with company standards, practices and the law
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management
