Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and supervising a team of eight, the Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and functional expertise to drive departmental expectations while ensuring compliance with policies, mission and strategic planning. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for managing and directing all HR functions including employment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations and systems. The successful candidate will ensure that business processes comply with regulatory and legal requirements to minimize risk to the organization. The ideal candidate will be an experienced manager and collaborative team builder leader who operates with a strategic perspective while executing the day-to-day activities. This individual must be comfortable with the challenges of managing over 500 dedicated professionals at a multi-site, 24/7 organization. The successful candidate will understand and value the importance of diversity and demonstrate sensitivity to the different cultures represented among the children, families and staff. A minimum of five to seven years of increasingly responsible human resources management experience is preferred, including four years in a supervisory role. Employee relations experience and a working knowledge of all HR activities and associated state and federal regulations are expected. Knowledge of California labor laws is strongly preferred. HR professionals from nonprofit and for-profit environments with an employee census of at least 300 are encouraged to apply. SHRM certification as well as a Master’s degree in Human resources or a related field is preferred. The salary range is $140,000 to $155,000 based on experience.
