Mortgage Capital Partners, is recruiting a Human Resources Director to join their team.  With headquarters in Los Angeles, CA, this position is a remote and work from home position that can be located anywhere in the United States.  You will be expected to travel to the LA area upon hire and throughout the year.

About the Role:  

Over the last 10 years, MCP has grown from 20 employees to over 130 employees.  We envision this position will help implement a HR framework that is appropriate for a company of our size.  An ideal candidate for this position is someone who desires to step forward and help build a new corporate culture in the decentralized/remote environment that has come about due to the pandemic.  This position should be able to self‐manage their responsibilities, with proactive communication skills across the organization’s hierarchy.   

Responsibilities:  

  • Evaluate current HR framework and implement improvements and restructuring as needed.  
  • Advise management and employees on the Company’s policies and procedures; administer employee training programs.  
  • Formalize job descriptions/duties within departments and enhance employee review program  
  • Investigate employee complaints or disciplinary actions as needed and advise management on appropriate courses of action.  
  • Upgrade new hire application and boarding process.  
  • Administer and maintain the Company’s employee benefits programs and coordinate open enrollment.  
  • Liaise with corporate counsel and other contractors when necessary  
  • Oversee accurate record of timekeeping for employees as required by various state and federal law.  
  • Implement transfer of payroll process and responsibilities from the accounting department to human resources. 

Qualifications:  

  • Experience with HRIS systems and knowledge of basic technological functions to help create a paperless department  
  • Knowledge and ability to create human resources policies and procedures  
  • Excellent knowledge of California and federal employment laws  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain professional under a variety of circumstances 
  • 7+ years of related HR experience  
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is preferred 
  • Payroll experience preferred
