The Director of Labor/Employee Relations partners and consults with Business Unit Presidents, RVP’s, Division Presidents, General Managers, HRM’s and other leaders to ensure the development and implementation of proactive, well-balanced and effective labor/teammate relations strategy. This position works as a liaison between teammates and management when necessary to resolve conflict and/or conduct investigations, as needed. The Director stays abreast and has comprehensive knowledge of all NLRA/NLRB guidelines and changes, labor trends and avoidance best practices.

  • Formulate and administer labor policy for the company using knowledge of company objectives and government regulations.
  • Consult legal staff to ensure that labor policies comply with Federal and State law.
  • Stay abreast of political actions that impact the labor environment of the organization; develop and implement best practices to help maintain a union-free work environment.
  • Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends and the impact on the Company.


  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources Management, or another related field.
  • Have at least 8 years of labor relations experience.
  • Have at least 5 years of minimum labor contract negotiations experience.
  • Need someone who can communicate and operate at all levels, from board room to warehouse floor.
  • High energy and able to travel frequently.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
