Link to application and full position listing Wayne State University invites applications for an experienced Extension Program Coordinator II to work in Labor@Wayne, an academic center for research and learning that includes the Fraser Center for Workplace Studies, the Center for Labor Studies, and the Employment and Labor Relations programs, and the Labor School, all based on its Detroit campus location. Wayne State University has a long history of excellence in labor studies and serves as home to the Walter P. Reuther Library, the preeminent labor archive in the world. This hire is part of a new initiative to regenerate and expand labor studies at Wayne State University. Job responsibilities include supporting the Director of Labor@Wayne as central coordinator for unit programming; assisting in the review and expansion of the Employment and Labor Relations BA and MA programs; working with the Director and interdisciplinary faculty on in-person or online labor and employment relations classes and workshops; updating Labor@Wayne communications; organizing public outreach events with the Director, including annual lectures and North American Labor History Conference; conducting research as needed for unit projects; assisting in developing internship opportunities for academic students in the labor and human relations fields. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Master’s degree required for level II, preferred in labor studies, human relations or a related field or in education. Experience working in labor unions or labor education preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication and administrative skills. Digital, online education, and/or web skills a plus.
