Join the Talent Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the mission, goals and objectives of our organization.

Duties include:

  • Employment Law Compliance: Ensures compliance and demonstrates proficient knowledge of major employment laws including but not limited to : • National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act • Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) • Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) • Florida Domestic Violence Leave Law•Performance Management: Supports
  • Performance Management Initiatives. Provides guidance to leaders regarding performance evaluation, compliance, coaching and counseling. Trains leaders on performance differentiation best practices to optimize employee performance.
  • Investigations: Consults or conducts employee investigations. Ensures that due diligence guidelines are followed and that thorough investigations are conducted in a timely manner. Leads investigations necessary on complaints including but not limited to harassment, hostile work environment and unfair leadership.
  • Employment Practices: Provides guidance, recommendations and interventions for problem resolution to leaders, employees and teams. Consults on issues such as FMLA or Reasonable Accommodations. Provides advice and counsel to leaders regarding employment practices, policy, employment laws and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Analytics: Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies to engage and retain a high-quality workforce.
  • Just Culture: Supports Just Culture initiatives, ensuring a fair work environment. Manages the Employee Grievance process for union and non-union employees.
  • Leave Management: Provides guidance to Leave Management Specialist on the interaction of leave laws and complex matters. Provides training as necessary.

Qualified candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree, 2-5 years employee relations experience, proficient knowledge of employee relations, labor relations and employment law, and high level of interpersonal, teamwork and relationship building skills.

Preferred candidates will possess a Master’s degree, healthcare human resources experience, human resources experience in a union environment, demonstrated ability to collect and interpret data, analyze and report results and trends, demonstrated experience in HR legal matters and regulations (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.), PHR or SHRM-CP certification, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification, and experience working on projects (analytics, turnover reduction, employee engagement, developing/facilitating courses, etc.).
