OVERVIEW The Cook County Department of Labor Relations is seeking a Hearing Officer to serve as a liaison on behalf County management in grievance hearings, resolution meetings, and other Labor/Management activities. Under the general supervision of the Deputy Bureau Chief of Human Resources/Director of Labor Relations and the Senior Labor & Employment Legal Counsel, the Hearing Officer will act as a mediator for union grievance hearings and support the Labor Counsel on matters related to arbitrations and other labor related litigation. ROLE SUMMARY Acts as a liaison on behalf of County management in serving as hearing officer or mediator for union grievance hearings, resolution meetings, and other Labor/Management activities. Aids Labor Counsel on matters related to arbitrations and other labor related litigation. As an employee in a Shakman Exempt Position, if you do not currently live in Cook County, you will have six (6) months from date of hire to establish actual residency within Cook County.
