Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000

Duties and Responsibilities:

Examples of Typical Task:

  • Enforcement of Federal, NYS and NYC labor laws/regulations.
  • Assist in all aspects of the hiring process including interviewing and evaluating candidates for hire.
  • Conduct employee orientation for new hires.
  • Handle employees’ queries of company benefits, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining personnel records and related files.
  • Process requests for leave under Federal, State and City law.
  • Participate in all aspects of collective bargaining for in-house unions.
  • Facilitate the employee grievance process.
  • Participate in arbitrations.
  • Update job specifications, employee manuals, policies and procedures as required by law and contract negotiations.
  • Investigate employee issues, complaints and conflicts; write reports and make recommendations regarding corrective action and resolution.
  • Enforce discipline and discharge procedure.
  • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently and fairly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Shrm or PHR certification preferred. Relevant work experience may be a substitute.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Federal, NYS and NYC labor laws/regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a take charge individual who can complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality, be tactful, empathetic, thoughtful and a good listener when interacting with employees.
