Call for LERA Research Volume Proposals
2027 LERA RV SUBMISSION DEADLINE: March 15, 2026

The LERA Editorial Committee invites members to submit research volume proposals by March 15, 2026, for the 2027 LERA Research Volumes. The Committee welcomes submissions on all topics related to labor and employment relations, including but not limited to the following areas: 

• AI, Employment Relations, and Worker Rights
• Demographic Diversity, Labor Markets, and Employer Strategies
• Emerging Models of Labor Unionism
• Employer Resistance to Unionization Efforts
• Labor Unions, Political Engagement, and Public Policy
• Innovative Approaches to Dispute Resolution
• Worker Ownership, Participation, and Workplace Democracy
• Work-Life Balance and Worker Well-Being

• Union Organizing and Collective Bargaining at a Critical Moment: Opportunities for Renewal or Continued Decline? (2024)
• The Evolution of Workplace Dispute Resolution: International Perspectives (2023)
• A Racial Reckoning in Industrial Relations: Storytelling as Revolution from Within (2022)
• Revaluing Work(ers): Toward a Democratic and Sustainable Future (2021)

The Upcoming 2026 volume is underway and tentatively titled Labor in Global Supply Chains.

Submission Content

• A rationale and explanation for the volume (1 – 3 pages extended abstract), and
• An outline of 8 – 11 chapters, with a brief description of each chapter and related authors. 
• Biographical information and links to vitas for the editor(s) and contributing authors.

Editors should secure commitments from chapter authors and communicate that LERA’s Editorial Committee needs to approve the volume and may suggest changes.

Timeline

Complete manuscript submission deadline – due to LERA for copyediting, layout, and production (from volume editor)

• December 31, 2026 for the 2027 volume

Chapter deadlines – due to volume editor (from chapter authors)

• First drafts: June – September 2026
• Revised drafts: September – October
• Final submission for copyediting: November – December
• Integrative essay by volume editors: March 1
• Publication – Late summer/fall
