  • The plenary session, “Shaping the Future of Work to Create the Next Generation Social Contract,” is set for this year’s LERA Annual Meeting in Minneapolis May 26-29.
Chair: Tom Kochan. Panelists: David Lewin (UCLA), Lisa Lynch (Brandeis), David Weil (Boston U. and Department of Labor), Liz Shuler (AFL-CIO) and Marty Mulloy (Ford).
  • LERA was well represented at its winter meeting concurrent with the ASSA/AEA 2016 conference in San Francisco in January. Sandy Jacoby (UCLA) was instrumental in putting a compelling program together. Among well-attended sessions were those dealing with the minimum wage, income and wealth inequality and the economic consequences of mass incarceration of African-Americans.
  • Tom Kochan has a new book, Shaping the Future of Work: What the Future Worker, Business, Government, and Education Leaders Need to Do For All to Proper. There’s an author’s discount for LERA members. http://www.businessexpertpress.com/  For E-Book Use the Discount Code: SHAPESPL15 For Print Version Use the Discount Code:  KOCHAN15
